The Korea Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI) announced on the 13th that it operated the K-SeaQ joint brand pavilion at the “INMARINE 2025” exhibition,

which took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 29 to 31.

At this exhibition, KOMERI, together with nine institutions, set up a dedicated booth for the K-SeaQ brand. Over the three-day event,

more than 450 representatives from about 220 companies around the world visited the booth to explore Korea’s marine and fisheries equipment products and technologies.

In particular, KOMERI achieved tangible results such as receiving more than 20 business consultations and quotation requests from Southeast Asian companies,

including Singapore’s well-known firm Singatac. KOMERI explained that Singatac showed keen interest, inquiring in depth about the applicability of K-SeaQ equipment in local markets.

In addition, many overseas buyers discussed specific cooperation plans with K-SeaQ, boosting the prospects for entry into Southeast Asian markets.

KOMERI expects that these outcomes will not only enhance the international competitiveness of domestically produced marine equipment

but also help shift away from the current import-dependent market structure.

Participating organizations in the booth included KOMERI, the Korea Institute of Marine Science & Technology Promotion (KIMST),

Marine Electronics Co., Samyoung ENC, ENCO, SeaNet, SAN Engineering, People Communication, and KHAN Co., Ltd. Each showcased and

demonstrated innovative products and technologies, promoting the strengths of Korean-made marine and fisheries equipment.

Bae Jeong-cheol, President of KOMERI, said, “Through our participation in this exhibition, we were able to

showcase the technological strengths of domestically produced marine and fisheries equipment directly to the Southeast Asian market.

I believe this has laid the groundwork for transforming the previously import-dependent market structure.

” He added, “Through the K-SeaQ joint brand, we will further strengthen the global competitiveness of Korean equipment.”

Meanwhile, K-SeaQ is the result of the “Core Marine and Fisheries Equipment Localization Technology Development Project,

” which has been promoted since 2021 with the support of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and KIMST.

By combining five jointly developed pieces of equipment—photon gyrocompass, autopilot system, fish finder, radar, and

multifunction display—with existing corporate products, the initiative has enabled the full localization of equipment that had previously depended on imports.
